Sinopsis: Ichigo Kurosaki adalah siswa SMA yang agak normal selain dia memiliki kemampuan untuk melihat hantu. Kemampuan ini tidak pernah mempengaruhi hidupnya sampai hari ia bertemu dengan Shinigami Kuchiki Rukia, yang menyelamatkan dia dan nyawa keluarganya dari Hollow, roh korup yang melahap jiwa manusia.
Terluka selama pertarungan melawan Hollow, Rukia memilih satu-satunya pilihan yang tersedia untuk mengalahkan monster itu dan menyerahkan kekuatan Shinigami-nya kepada Ichigo. Sekarang dipaksa untuk bertindak sebagai pengganti sampai Rukia pulih, Ichigo memburu Hollow yang mengganggu kotanya.
